Caring for Your Heart Rate Sensor Bands
Polar H10 Chest Strap Care Guide (Default with HeatSense Kit)
The Polar H10 chest strap, included with your HeatSense Kit, is a gold-standard ECG sensor designed for precision heart rate tracking. Proper care helps ensure long-term reliability and accuracy.
Cleaning the Strap
- Detach the sensor from the strap before cleaning.
- Rinse the strap under running water after every session to remove sweat and salt buildup.
- Hand wash with mild soap every 5 uses to maintain conductivity and prevent skin irritation.
- Do not machine wash or dry.
Cleaning the Sensor
- Wipe down with a soft, damp cloth—especially around the contact points.
- Do not submerge or apply cleaning chemicals to the sensor module.
Drying and Storage
- Air dry flat—do not wring out the strap or expose it to heat sources.
- Reconnect the sensor only when both parts are fully dry.
- Store in a cool, dry place; avoid damp gym bags or tightly sealed containers.
