Alerts and Default Thresholds
Understanding and Using HeatSense Alerts
Why Alerts Matter
HeatSense is designed to keep you safer during training and competition by monitoring your core vitals in real time. Our alert system warns you as your body approaches—or reaches—dangerous thresholds, giving you the chance to take action before it’s too late.
Alert Levels Explained
Generally, each vital has two alert levels:
-
Caution Alert: Signals early warning signs. Your body is starting to show heat strain. This is when you should start cooling strategies, slow down, or increase rest intervals.
-
Alarm Alert: Indicates serious risk. You should stop exercising immediately and move to a cooler environment.
The default thresholds are based on research-backed indicators of when the body is entering potentially dangerous heat strain zones.
Our Recommendation: Keep Alerts ON
We recommend that all athletes keep all alerts ON—especially when first using HeatSense. Every body is different, and until you understand how your body responds to heat, these alerts act as essential safety cues.
-
Caution Alerts can be adjusted or turned off once you’re familiar with your normal response patterns.
-
Alarm Alerts should never be turned off. These indicate potentially serious heat stress and should always be treated as high priority.
A Quick Reminder
HeatSense provides insights to help you make informed decisions. However, it is not medical advice. If you feel unwell or experience symptoms like dizziness, confusion, or nausea, stop activity and seek medical attention right away.
